Composition
Betahistine dihydrochloride.
 
Indications
Ménière's syndrome. This syndrome is usually characterized by dizziness, tinnitus, nausea, headache and is often accompanied by loss of hearing.
Symptomatic treatment of vestibular vertigo.
 
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the product.
 
Precautions / Warnings
Patients suffering from pheochromocytoma or bronchial asthma need to be carefully monitored during the therapy.
Caution is advised also in the treatment of patients with a history of peptic ulcer.
Administration during pregnancy is discouraged, although there are no indications for harmful effects in animal testing.
 
Side Effects
In some cases mild gastric complaints have been observed. They can normally be dealt with by taking the dosage during meals or by lowering the dose.
 
Dosage and Administration
24 mg to 48 mg per day, to be taken in 3 divided dosages. Prolonged treatment is necessary for optimal results.
