Composition
Mebeverine hydrochloride.
 
Indications
Adults: Symptomatic treatment of abdominal pain and cramps, bowel disturbances and intestinal discomfort related to irritable bowel syndrome.
Children over 3 years of age: Treatment of functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract associated with abdominal pain.
 
Contraindications
None known.
 
Precautions / Warnings
Animal experiments have failed to show any teratogenic effects. However the usual precautions concerning the administration of any drug during pregnancy should be observed.
 
Side Effects
None have been reported after administration in therapeutic doses.
 
Dosage and Administration
Tablets:
135 mg tablet t.i.d.; to be given preferably 20 minutes before meals.
Capsules:
200 mg capsules twice daily (morning and evening).
Suspension:
Children 3 years: 3 times 2.5 ml per day.
Children 4 - 8 years: 3 times 5 ml per day.
Children 9 - 10 years: 3 times 10 ml per day.
Adults/children over 10 years: 3 times 15 ml per day.
